(dis)Respecting the Heroes

As the 40th anniversary of the moon landing passed by, I became more aware of our... slightly bad timing with our astronaut related animation.

The animation doesn't exactly show astronauts in a positive light. While our intention was not to mock or disrespect, and I wasn't even aware that the anniversary was this year... with the recent media coverage of the apollo mission... this might be a problem. People see connections easily.

I feel it might not be seen as just a joke about the human condition anymore.

In more serious news: The animation should be done in a few weeks and then be presented to an audience at Assembly09. I probably should emphasis the word 'should' in the previous sentence. We ran into a bit of problems due to none of us really knowing jack shit about sound editing. Right now I still fear the whole thing might just simply fail because we can't get the mood right.

But hey, I'm going to sweden a day before Assembly and staying there for like a week! Lots of time to relax and forget about the whole thing if it all goes bad.

Plans for a year.

I have started painting a face a day whenever I can manage. In the hopes that maybe I'll learn something about the human facial anatomy while not really paying attention.

Also for the next year I have taken up the goal of making 2 pieces of art worth to be put in my portfolio every month (starting in august, I mean). This is... so I could get a decent spot to spend the many months I'm required to spend learning at work instead of school at the end of my studies (really don't know what it's called in english. Maybe intership?).

And of course... knowing myself... telling you this makes sure I won't ever do it. So I guess this is a very pointless journual entry.

In other news: Working on summer project for school. Just got an astronaut ready for animation today... It's gonna be 2 months spent on a dick joke. Which doesn't depress me that much.

Working on a project with a group of friends has been... Fun definitely would be the word I'd use.
